Running on Cloudzy

Cloudzy is an independent cloud hosting provider that offers a one-click Umami deployment, letting you launch a ready-to-use Umami VPS without configuring the server from scratch. Deployment typically completes in about 60 seconds.

Cloudzy lists 1 GB of RAM as the minimum requirement for Umami, so at current pricing, you can get started for $3.48/month. You can scale to a larger VPS later for higher traffic or heavier workloads.

The image deploys Umami and PostgreSQL with Docker Compose on an Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS VPS, with Nginx configured as the HTTPS reverse proxy.

Deploy Umami#

Deploy a preconfigured Umami instance using the button above.

1. Open Umami on the Cloudzy Marketplace and click Deploy Umami on a VPS.
2. Sign in to Cloudzy or create an account.
3. Choose a server location and a VPS plan.
4. Review the order and deploy the server.

Once provisioning is complete, you can find the SSH credentials in the Cloudzy dashboard.

Open your Umami instance#

Open the following address in your browser, replacing <server-ip> with the public IP address of your VPS:

https://<server-ip>

Sign in with the default administrator account:

- Username: admin

- Password: umami

After signing in, go to Settings → Profile and change the default password immediately. See Login for more information.

Configure a production domain#

The IP address is useful for confirming that the deployment works. Before adding the Umami tracking script to a production website:

1. Create a DNS A record for a domain such as analytics.example.com and point it to the public IPv4 address of the VPS.

2. Configure the domain in /etc/nginx/sites-available/umami.conf.

3. Install a browser-trusted TLS certificate for the domain and reload Nginx.

The certificate files created during initial provisioning are stored in /etc/nginx/ssl/. Once the domain is configured, use its HTTPS address when adding the Umami tracking script to your website.

Start collecting data#

1. Follow Add a website to register your website in Umami.

2. Follow Collect data to add the tracking script to your website.

3. Visit your website and confirm that activity appears in the Umami dashboard.

Manage the instance#

Connect to the VPS over SSH when you need to inspect or restart the services. The Umami stack is located in /root/umami:

systemctl restart nginx         # restart the reverse proxy

Application settings are stored in /root/umami/.env, and the Docker Compose configuration is in /root/umami/docker-compose.yaml. PostgreSQL data persists in the umami\_umami-db-data Docker volume.
