Umami Cloud FAQ#
Does Umami Cloud have a free tier?#
Yes! Umami Cloud's Hobby plan is completely free. Great for personal projects and low-traffic websites.
How does the free trial work?#
Umami Cloud's free trial will last for 14 days from the purchase date. The trial gives you full access to all features in that plan. At the end of the trial, you will be billed the regular amount. You can cancel your trial at any time within the trial period for no cost.
How will I be billed?#
Billing occurs on either a monthly or annual basis. If you upgraded to a paid plan via a trial, your first invoice will arrive after your trial period ends.
How is usage measured?#
Usage is measured across events, event data, and session data. Each website hit or custom event counts as one event, and each event data property stored counts as one event. Session data you store also counts toward your usage. See Usage to track it.
Where are your servers located?#
Umami Cloud offers US and EU data regions, selected during account setup. To check your selection, open Settings → Account and look for Data region.
The data-region selection applies to analytics storage. It does not mean that all processing takes place within that region: CDN routing, security, support, and operational logging may involve services outside it. See the Subprocessors, Privacy Policy, and Data Processing Agreement for the applicable processing terms.
The region field in account settings is read-only after setup. If you need a different region, contact support to confirm the options for your account, including whether a new account or data migration is required, before making changes.
How long is my analytics data retained?#
The current Cloud plans specify the following analytics retention periods:
| Plan | Analytics retention |
|---|---|
| Hobby | 6 months |
| Pro | 2 years |
| Business | 5 years |
| Enterprise | Custom, as agreed for your account |
These periods describe production analytics retention, not backup retention. Residual copies of deleted data may remain in backups under ordinary retention and backup cycles. See DPA Section 8.3, Backups and legal retention, for the applicable terms.
For an account-specific retention arrangement, check your agreement. Security and privacy resources describe the related safeguards and policies.
Can I export my data?#
Yes, all of your data can be exported from Umami Cloud.
