Sessions

Available since v2.13.0

The Sessions screen displays detailed information about your visitors. A session represents a single visit to your website, identified by a unique hash generated from the visitor's IP address, user agent, and website ID. This means visitors are tracked anonymously without cookies.

Visitor activity

Explore your most recent visitors and discover where they come from in a high-level summarized view. Each row shows the visitor's country, browser, operating system, and the pages they viewed during their session.

Visitor profile

Clicking on any of the avatars in the activity table brings you to a new page showing details about a particular visitor. It also shows their activity history over time.

If the visitor has a Distinct ID, Umami automatically combines activity from all of their linked sessions (e.g. across devices) into this one profile, shown as a Linked IDs count.

View session properties

Your custom data can be accessed under the Properties tab on the Sessions page. This section will show you all the custom data properties you saved as well as a breakdown of all the values. To save session properties see Tracker functions.

Filtering

Use the Property Filter button to narrow down session properties by specific property names and values. This lets you focus your analysis on a particular group of sessions.

Session data filters can also be added from the Session data tab of the main filter panel, letting you filter any report page by a session property, not just the Sessions page.

Individual session property data can be viewed at the profile level.
